Club president Angel Torres has told when asked for an update on Greenwood: “We depend on Manchester. The idea is for him to stay.”

Greenwood’s contract at United includes the option for a 12-month extension through to 2026. If that were to be triggered, then the Red Devils would be in a position to sanction another loan – potentially with Getafe – before mulling over more permanent options in future windows.
